Jellyfish come in all shapes, sizes and colors. The Crystal Jellyfish or Aequorea Victoria, is from the Phylum Cnidaria which comes from the Greek word Cnidos which means "stinging nettle". The Class that the Crystal Jelly belongs to is Hydrozoa or, "water-animal". The Order is, Leptomedusae or (small/narrow and free swimming).
Aequorea Victoria is known for being colorless and nearly transparent along with along with having the capability of bioluminescence. Bioluminescence is the ability of an organism to self illuminate their body using chemical reactions. The bioluminescence in Aequorea victoria appears as a blue light as the jellyfish quickly releases calcium.
